Our founder, Zain Abidean, brings nine years of experience working across all levels of secondary schools, including senior leadership. During his time in a Pupil Referral Unit, Zain witnessed first-hand the disproportionate challenges faced by children in care in the UK, including increased risk of poor educational attainment, homelessness, unemployment, mental health struggles, and involvement with the criminal justice system.
Motivated by a desire to make a significant impact, Zain envisioned an exceptional support system that actively collaborates with other stakeholders within the sector. His goal is to equip young people with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed, ensuring they are not disadvantaged by their past experiences.
As an educator, Zain firmly believes all humans have undiscovered gifts and talents that can be developed; he is unwavering in his conviction that all young people, regardless of previous hardships and trauma, have the internal resources, however fragmented, to manage a successful transition to independence, given they receive access to appropriate support structures.
Our team is made up of dedicated professionals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of those we serve. From case managers to outreach workers, we work together to provide comprehensive support to our young people.
Experienced Team: Led by a dedicated and experienced management team, our care is delivered by a consistent group of skilled support workers specifically recruited for their expertise in working with vulnerable children. These individuals possess exceptional intuition and the ability to provide the extra support these young people require.
Individualised Care: We maintain a high staff-to-child ratio in every home, ensuring each young person receives the personalized attention needed to build essential life skills and foster confidence.
Collaborative Approach: We work alongside relevant agencies and, when appropriate, family members, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated care plan for each young person. We actively involve them in their care journey and decision-making processes, respecting their age and understanding.
Evidence-Based Approach: Our program utilizes a well-researched and effective authoritative, high-support parenting model. This approach has been proven successful in fostering trust, self-esteem, and overall well-being in young people who have experienced trauma, loss, or rejection.
Structured and Supportive Environment: We provide comfortable and well-maintained homes where young people receive 24/7 care and support. We actively encourage them to participate in age-appropriate activities such as education, employment, outings, and hobbies (e.g., sports, music). This fosters a sense of normalcy and allows them to explore and develop their interests.
Crisis Management: We are equipped to address any crisis situations that may arise. Our team implements immediate intervention strategies, followed by reflection and open communication to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
Empowering Potential: Our ultimate goal is to empower young people to reclaim their place in life and develop essential coping mechanisms to reach their full potential. Every aspect of our care model is designed to support this objective.
